Words cannot express how sorry I was to hear about the death of Academician Zheng-Yi Wu,  a knowledgeable, giant botanist and thoughtful, gentle person whom I respect most highly. I send my deepest condolences to his family, friends, colleagues and students. May him rest in peace.
