We grieve deeply the passing of Professor Wu ZhengYi. We met Dr. Wu in
1978 in Kunming on our US Botanical Delegation to China, and met him
later during the his return visit to the US from China in 1979. We
accompanied the Chinese Delegation throughout its visit to the US and
had a chance to get acquainted with Prof. Wu, we fondly nicked named him
"Wu-the-Slow," because he walked more slowly than the others. All the
while we communicated by New Year's greetings and talked on the phone
when we visited Kunming for lectures.
We have great memories and deep fondness for Professor Wu. We celebrate
his life.
Thank you for writing us, and best wishes,
