I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Wu Lao.  He was the active center of taxonomic botany in China for so long and played such an important part in the success of the Flora of China project.  On a personal level I found him always very kindly, helpful and friendly, and so extremely knowledgeable!  He will be missed but his place in Chinese botany will endure long after his passing.
